Become an AMSA Officer

Steps

To become an officer of AMSA

  • Application must be submitted by the date determined by the executive board
  • Applicant must go through an interview with a panel of current executive board members

To become an executive officer of AMSA

  • Applicant must be an AMSA officer for at least 1 semester
  • Applicant must undergo interview by current executives
  • Applicant appointed by president and received approval by board of executives

Officer Roles

AMSA Intern

  • Offered every Spring semester
  • Rotate through each committee on a biweekly basis
  • Complete tasks as determined by the committee head and approved by the President and Vice President
  • Great for students who want to get experience in leadership before applying for a formal officer position!
  • Interns will meet weekly with the President and Vice President to discuss tasks and updates

Committee Officer

  • Positions open semesterly as needed
  • Work with a committee of officers led by a committee head/executive officer to complete tasks as assigned by the President and Vice President
  • Applicants can be placed in the Events Committee, Guidance Committee, Media Committee, Finance Committee, or the Volunteering Committee
  • Officers will meet weekly with their committee heads to review deadlines and discuss updates

Executive Officer

  • The board of executive officers is led by the President and consists of the head of each committee, along with the Vice President and Secretary
  • Committee heads will lead a group of officers through events and tasks as assigned by the President and Vice President of AMSA
  • Executive officers will meet weekly to discuss updates and review AMSA legislation
